Apple released the newest version of the tv based entertainment operating system, tvOS 12 at the WWDC 2018 event. The event covered many new updates ranging from iOS, watchOS to the newly announced macOS Mojave.
The Apple TV now supports Dolby Atmos, a premium audio format for multichannel surround sound setups. Speaking about this, Apple TV lead designer Jennifer Folse said “Apple TV is the only streaming player to be both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certified.” A lot of upcoming 4K HDR shows and movies on Apple TV will soon have the support for Dolby Atmos and the existing users will receive this update for free.
Apple is working with top cable service providers to increase the number of channels to 100 in 10 countries. This will bring in better and improved live TV content and on-demand integration for all users.
