Facebook Looking To Foray Into High Speed Internet Broadband Space

Facebook has plans to provide internet service in urban areas together with Qualcomm, where they will be using Facebook’s Terragraph technology to build a multi-node wireless system. The company aims to make mutli-gigabytes per second plans available to the users at very low costs.

Yael Maguire, vice president of connectivity, Facebook said that “With Terragraph, our goal is to enable people living in urban areas to access high-quality connectivity that can help create new opportunities and strengthen communities.” This high speed internet service is expected to let users stream a 4K video at 25 Mbit/s or download a 100 MB file in 3 seconds.
