Indian Users have taken up great liking for the budget Redmi series smartphones from Xiaomi, where almost millions of units have been sold and still counting. The company is giving solid competition to Samsung and Apple with huge sales in 2017, selling over 90 million units around the world.
Currently, Xiaomi is delivering 10 million shipments per month and at this pace the company will soon reach 120-150 million shipments in 2018. Looking at this, the rivals like Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi – have reworked their strategy for this year and will apparently work on expanding into foreign markets while creating a stronghold in the home country.
Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 5 series along with Redmi TV, after much speculation in the Indian market. Indian fans were surely excited for the launch and the company didn’t disappoint like always. In India, they are building a brand which cares for the people and deliver the right products which are useful and affordable to the Indian crowd. The strategy looks plain and simple, but it does work on a competitive level.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also stated that the company was targeting 100 million units shipped in 2018. In November 2017, the company had announced that it 70 million shipments in the first 10 months of 2017.
Vivo and Oppo are also expanding their influence with budget smartphones running on AI technology, which will be coming up in later half of this year.
