WhatsApp has rolled out a new Beta feature in which the users will soon be able to lock the voice messages while recording. This will eliminate the problem of not having to hold up the record button constantly and record the entire message without letting it go.
Since this is currently available only in Beta, only a few will have access who have joined the Beta tester programme. The company is also working on giving the users an option to play voice messages before they’re sent to the receiver.
For the feature to work, the users tap and hold the mic icon for 0.5 seconds and then slide up the finger toward the lock button. The voice recording once locked can easily be sent by tapping the Send button. If you want to trash this recording, you can tap the cancel button which is available next to the timer.
