Facebook has started testing the digital payment service on it’s Facebook and Messenger App. This feature will basically let users recharge their phones quickly, with Facebook claiming that it will rollout peer-to-peer, and peer-to-merchant payment service in the future.
The App UI has been revamped with a new look. Also, there are new tabs showing frequently used services show on the top, whereas the settings and privacy section has also been revamped with new icons, with grayscale logos. The ‘Mobile Recharge’ option is also included in there, with the ability to recharge any phone number in India.
Once you open the Facebook App, under the main menu you can tap on ‘Mobile Recharge’ and then tap on ‘Recharge Now.’ Then enter enter your mobile number, and select the operator from the drop-down menu, followed by region. Then enter the recharge amount and you can also choose the various offers. Lastly, you can select preview order and place order where you will be asked for an OTP or 3D secure password and once authenticated, your prepaid mobile will be recharged.
As of now, the mobile networks that are supported includes Airtel, BSNL, MTNL, Tata Docomo, Vodafone, Idea, Telenor and Jio.
