YouTube’s Music Streaming Service Expected To Launch In 2018

New reports claim that YouTube is coming up with a stand-alone music streaming service next year. This means that YouTube will be taking on the rivals Spotify, Apple Music and gear up alongside Google Play Music which was launched in 2011.

Many of the independent record labels are in talks with YouTube. Warner Music Group has already signed up while Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group are yet to finalise. Also, Google had launched YouTube Red, an add-free paid subscription service in 2016 featuring exclusive video content from popular creators across the globe.

Google Play Music comes with the cheapest music subscription compared to Saavn and Apple Music. That being said, it would be interesting to see how YouTube’s music streaming service fares up once launched in India. We shall have to wait for any further details regarding this service until YouTube makes it official in the coming months.
