Chinese phone maker Xiaomi introduced Google Tez Payments Options in MI website and MI store App on Wednesday. Now users can make cashless payments through Google Tez Payments which comes under Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
Tez UPI ID will be use for payments and the Tez account will be linked to the user’s bank account and all the payments shall be done directly via the bank account. This move marks Xiaomi’s commitment to the ‘Digital India’ initiative. This digital payment App was launched earlier in September, Google had announced earlier this month that Tez had surpassed the mark of 12 million users in India.
In competition to Flipkart’s PhonePe payment service, Google Tez hit the mark of five million downloads on Play Store in October.
