App Store May Soon Have Universal Apps For iPhone, iPad and Mac

Apple is planning to make all Apps uniform for Apple devices. This means that a single App on the App store will be compatible with iPhone, iPad and Mac. This move will make it easy for the developers to shape a single App which fits well on all devices.

Based on a report, the software developers starting next year will be designing a single application that will work with a touchscreen or mouse/track pad depending on whether it’s running on the iPhone and iPad operating system or on Mac hardware. With the advancement in iPhones with A11 bionic processor, it shall be able to handle desktop-quality Apps. Also, it will be good for the Mac users where the App Store is updated less frequently.

Talking about this plan, Steven Troughton-Smith, an app developer says “Apps could help the iOS and macOS platforms evolve and grow as one, and not one at the expense of the other. This would be the biggest change to Apple’s software platform since iOS was introduced.”
