According to recent analytics report, Indian users have preferred Xiaomi as their preferred smartphone brand ever since its release in the country in 2014, over all the other popular tech giants like Apple and Samsung. Xiaomi acquired 26 per cent share by Android users, Samsung and Apple stand at 12 per cent each.
Xiaomi has witnessed a whopping 125 percent growth in India and has become the most preferred brand for Android buyers looking for an upgrade in 2017, according to Rajeev Nair, Senior Analyst, Strategy Analytics. It has been ranked no.1 for the first time ever since its launch in India and has become the most popular selling smartphone in the online market these days.
The Redmi series in India has managed to amalgamate great specifications at a rate affordable for all, hence gathering a huge fab base and popularity amongst users. The company claims to have sold over 1 million units of its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India in 45 days. Other offerings like Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S series have done quite well for the company as well.
Micromax came about to be the least preferred smartphone brand with only 2 per cent share. Lenovo and Motorola gained 6 per cent and 7 per cent share respectively, while OnePlus stands at 6 per cent.
