Apple Launches Clips, Its Very Own Video Editing App

Apple launches its very own app for those who’d like to create and edit videos on the go, through their iPhone and iPads. The app will let the users share the video on various social platforms like Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook. Clips will be available to download, starting April for absolutely no cost.

Clips make it very easy and fun to create expressive animated video, featuring a unique yet simplistic design that combines photos, music and video clips, all into one single video which can be easily shared to all the leading social media platforms. The app will also introduce Live Titles for users to create animated captions and titles with their voice. There is also the to add fun effects like comic book filters, speech bubbles and shapes.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Apps Product Marketing, said the effects, filters and amazing new Live Titles let anyone make “great-looking, easily sharable videos” with just a few taps. Apple is taking a different approach with Clips, it’s still very much tailored toward using photos and videos to send messages, a concept that Snapchat introduced.

Clips would be compatible with iPhone 5s and later, the new 9.7-inch iPad, all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, iPad mini 2 and later, and iPod touch 6th generation provided they are running iOS 10.3.
