LG’s Google-based smartwatch is going to make its global debut by the end of February, and if leaks and rumors are to be believed, they are priced at around $249, a rate which is quite affordable for a watch having such high end features. LG will launch the watch in two variants, silver and rose gold. The budget watch will be launched alongside the LG Watch Sport, a much more fully-featured smartwatch, whose pricing hasn’t disclosed yet.
The LG Watch Style is particularly not fabricated for athletics, since there was no heart rate monitor spotted on the leaked images. It is presumed that the wearable might focus more on aesthetics instead, keeping up to its name. The Watch Style would sport a 1.2-inch 360×360 AMOLED circular display, a 240mAh battery, and 512mb of RAM, making it one of the basic budget watches.
Unlike Motorola, who launched its first wearable at $299, LG watch could be in the mid ranged segment with the ASUS ZenWatch 3, which starts at $229 and the Huawei Watch which starts at $250. Apparently, different bands or color options might raise the cost of the watch a little further by around $50-$100. The Watch Sport is said to be more expensive of the two variants, since it is believed to have features that are upgraded and missing in the Watch Style since it gives users a bigger, higher resolution display, more RAM, cellular connectivity, NFC, GPS, and a heart rate monitor which the Style lacks.
The watch is going to be one of two smartwatches to sport Google’s Android Wear 2.0 at the launch on 9 February 2017.
