The much-awaited smartwatch, Q Founder by the American Brand Fossil is now up for grabs. The Fossil Q Founder is now available online and in select Fossil stores, for $295.
This smartwatch looks like a traditional watch, it has a stainless steel body, a round touchscreen display, interchangeable straps for customization, and comes with a water-resistant case.
It is a Google Android wear watch powered by an under-clocked Intel Atom processor. It is compatible with both Android (Android 4.4 or higher) and iOS (iPhone 5 or a newer handset running with a minimum iOS version of 8.2). Though the watch can be used with iPhones, the functions that can be performed with it on an iPhone are very limited.
The watch boast of a 24-hour battery life and is incorporated with activity tracking sensors, Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, and 4GB of storage.
At a price tag of $295 the Q Founder offers great features and looks pretty neat compared to other exorbitantly priced smartwatches currently available in the market such as the $1500 Tag Heuer watch.
This, however, is not Fossils first attempt at creating a connected watch, in 2004, Fossil collaborated with Microsoft to craft a series of connected watches that used Microsoft’s SPOT platform and FM radio waves to receive information.
