Vidmate — Meet Your New Video Mate

vidmateDownloading videos from YouTube using a downloader from the many options available in Google Play seems a good way to go. But there are times when YouTube is just not enough. There are other major and minor sites you may need to use to find a video, movie, song, or other media content. That’s where Vidmate comes into the picture. Featuring in the list of the ‘top new apps’ on google play, we certainly can expect a lot from this App,

Content and Features

First things first, Vidmate isn’t just your regular video download App that has a specified set of sites and is low on features to justify its low size. It’s less than 5MB when installed, doesn’t overkill with ads, has advanced options, such as parallel downloads, background downloads, download stability and pausing/resuming downloads, and also lets you add custom URLs and download videos from that website. Some nifty extra features have also been integrated, such as bookmarks, history, search, share and your phone’s video repository.

What’s more, they have their own media box online storage where you can store your favorite videos. You get 4GB capacity valid for a period of 7 days and is totally free. You can also free up some junk that the application generates within the App itself, such as clearing cache. Last but not the least, all these goodies come inside a lightweight package that is free!

Display and Appearance

The developers have done a great job at creating a nice slide-from-the left layout like most other convenient Apps do, providing accessibility for many settings under one hub. It will not leave you hunting for different options. In the notification panel, when a video is being downloaded, you can view the progress bar in parts of 4, the download speed, and the size downloaded.

The Good

– Excellent layout
– Flexible settings
– Various options of video sites to choose from
– Various download features

The Not So Good

– Nothing (Really)!

The Verdict

Having a look at the features and the appearance of the App, no one can deny that Vidmate is an App worth having on your phone if you frequently need to have media on the go. You can get the App free from the Play Store.
