HTC has announced a bunch of cool new things in NYC, a high-end device, Desire Eye; a smaller handheld camera, the RE Camera; and some interesting and useful new software features.
This device features most specs similar to the current flagship, the M8, with a 5.2″ 1080p Display, Snapdragon 801 Processor at 2.3GHz, and 2GB RAM. The device also features a flat and elegant body.
Where things get interesting though, is the camera. The Desire Eye features not just a rear facing camera of 13 Megapixels, but also a Front facing camera of the same quality (13MP), making it the perfect device for Selfies.
There are currently not many details on its pricing and availability, but we do know that it will be coming to the US, exclusively to AT&T.
Moving beyond the mobile market for the first time, HTC also announced the RE Camera. The RE Camera is a small and handheld camera with a Sony DSC sensor on one end. It features a 146° field of view, and can either connect to your Android or iOS devices or be used as a standalone Camera.
A number of select HTC Devices will be receiving an update to their Camera software, called ‘Eye Experience’, to bring it on par with the Desire Eye:
– HTC One M8
– HTC One M7
– HTC One E8
– HTC One Mini 2
– HTC One Max
– HTC Desire 816
– HTC Desire 820
– HTC Butterfly 2
