The October event to unveil Apple’s new iPads and other products won’t be as big as the September 9 event. The event that was initially rumoured to be on October 21st is now expected to be held on October 16th, according to Paczkowski of Re/Code. Unlike the September event, this event won’t be at the Flint Center and will be held at Apple’s Town Hall Auditorium at Cupertino.
Apple has a few more new products to unveil before the year is out, and it plans to show them off in a couple weeks. Sources tell Code/red the company will hold its next special event on Thursday, Oct. 16 — not the 21st.
The event will introduce the new iPad Air, also called iPad Air 2, which has the A8 processor, Touch ID, anti-reflective coating, Apple Pay and improved camera and other feature enhancements. An updated iPad Mini with Retina Display was also expected to be unveiled, but recent reports have claimed that it may now be released in 2015, as iPhone 6 Plus is eating into the sales of iPad Mini being similar in size.
As per the announcement at WWDC 2014, OS X Yosemite will also be formally released at the event.
