According to a report by Digitimes, Apple’s production partners have increased the production for components that will be used in the next-generation iPad Air. It is expected to have a thinner profile, inclusion of Touch ID and comparatively faster processor, though the size and resolution will remain unchanged. TPK and GIS, touch panel suppliers, have also been contacted by Apple to manufacture iPad Air’s full-lamination.
Past rumours have indicated a presence of 2GB RAM, faster A8 processor, thinner profile, anti-reflective coating, and inclusion of improved Touch ID sensor.
Apple is expected to launch its iPad Air 2 and iPad mini with Retina display in Q4 2014.
