Previously rumored to ship with the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Side Touch Camera shutter button is now expected to be included with the upcoming Note 4.
According to SamMobile, the feature was removed from the final S5 product at the last minute, but it will make its way into the Note 4, which is expected to be unveiled at IFA 2014, starting September 5, in Berlin.
The Side Touch button will essentially be a small touch sensitive addition to the right edge of the phone, near the bottom, and it will work as a camera shutter button.
As for the camera in the Note 4 it allegedly boasts a 16MP Sony IMX240 unit, has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), as well as the ability to record in 4K and 30 frames per second. Samsung also upped its game with the front camera, as we expect it to be a 3.7MP unit featuring ‘wide selfie’, ‘selfie alarm’, and ‘create a GIF’.
Take all this with a pinch of salt; we’ll know for sure on the 5th of September.
