Google Removes Hundreds Of Swing Copters Clones

scIn an effort to unclutter the Play Store a bit, while also preventing customer confusion, Google has reportedly removed ‘hundreds’ of Swing Copters clones.

If you were under a rock for the last few days, Swing Copters is the new game from the creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, and is even more frustrating and difficult.

While this is a good move, there are still a bunch of Swing Copters clones still left, as well as thousands of Apps that are blatant copies of other popular Apps, yet they were approved onto the Play Store, just like these Swing Copters clones. It is obvious though, Swing Copters is gaining popularity blazingly fast, and Google wanted to make sure that if one was to search for ‘Swing Copters’ on the Play Store the official game by (dot)Gears would appear at the top, and not just a knock off.

Still, it is no secret that the Play Store is in need of much more decluttering and curation, and many Apps and games shouldn’t have been approved in the first place.
