Google has just acquired Gecko, a firm that has previously helped develop products for companies including Hewlett-Packard, Slingmedia, Dell, Fit bit Herman Miller (Furniture).
Google will be letting Gecko into their X Lab, the top secret division (not really) where Google makes stuff like the autonomous car and Google Glass.
The owner and President at Gecko, Jacques Gagne, expressed his enthusiasm on their website:
This is an incredible opportunity for everyone at Gecko. We are very excited and honored to join Google(x) and work on a variety of cutting edge projects.
At the moment, this is all that’s known, and we don’t know how much Google paid to acquire the firm, but it seems to be a good move nonetheless.
