Taiwan’s online media Digitimes has released the news that Apple will launch the thinner MacBook by the end of this year or sometime next year. As per the report, Taiwan’s supply chain makers have indicated that the production of components have already begun in small volumes.
A recent report by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News had talked about the expected delay in the launch of 12-inch MacBook Air due to the supply shortage of Intel’s Broadwell chip. The report had cited late 2014 or early 2015 as the launch time for 12-inch MacBook Air.
According to another report, 12-inch MacBook Air would be similar in size to current MacBook Air 11 and would have a Retina display. It will be much thinner and lighter than the current MacBook Air models.
Apple may unveil its 12-inch MacBook Air in an October event after the introduction and launch of iPhone 6.
