According to Korea Herald reports, South Korean government has ordered Apple to revise its App Store refund policy. Apple’s current refund policy requires the user to submit a request for refund and then the case gets reviewed by an Apple employee. After these steps Apple considers the application for refund.
Korea’s Fair Trade Commission received numerous requests from the Citizens’ Coalition for Economic Justice post which marked this practice by Apple as “unfair”. Apple has communicated to Fair Trade Commission that it would create a new and automated refund system for the Korean App Store, and would also consider launching it worldwide.
The consumer group that brought the refund case before the Fair Trade Commission says it will also forward the complaint regarding iPhone repair policies which replaces phone rather than repair it.
