Next Nexus Tablet To Be Called The HTC Volantis


Google’s next 8.9in Nexus tablet has been long rumored to be developed by HTC, and has surfaced occasionally with different names, including Flounder, and the Nexus 8. Now, however, it seems the HTC Nexus Tablet will be named ‘Volantis‘.

According to AndroidPolice, the tablet isn’t expected to be released before the end of this year, and will not be unveiled at Google I/O.

The alleged specifications are below:

– 8.9″ Display at 2048×1440 (281ppi)
– NVIDIA Logan 64-bit processor (Tegra K1)
– 16/32GB internal storage
– 8MP OIS main camera, 3MP front facing camera
– Aluminum zero-gap construction
– Stereo front-facing speakers
– 8.91″x5.98″x0.31″ body (22.63×15.19×0.79cm)
– 418g (or 427g with LTE)

Prices have also been mentioned by AndroidPolice, with $399 for the 16GB version, 32GB going for $499, and around $599 for the 4G LTE version of the device.
