According to a recent report by Reuters, the face of iWatch will be rectangular and is likely to measure 2.5 inches diagonally. It is also expected that the face will protrude slightly from the band, creating an arch shape and will feature a touch interface.
The touch screen display of the watch is supplied by LG Display and Quanta Computer Inc., a Taiwan-based Company. The iWatch production is planned to begin from July and it is expected to get launched by October this year. According to the report, Apple expects to ship 50 Million units within the first year of the product’s release.
iWatch is expected to have wireless charging feature using inductive charging method. It will be able to perform basic functions related to messaging and voice chats upon pairing with iPhone. It will also capture health and fitness related data to share with recently announced Health App and Health kit for health and fitness monitoring.
