Along with Android Wear Smartwatches announced at Google I/O, Google also announced their in-car system called Android Auto. Android Auto will work like other in-car systems, but it will automate tasks and be fully voice controlled for hands-free control. The head of Google’s Automotive division, Andrew Brenner, explained how Android Auto will enhance basic functions like communication, navigation and entertainment, and will also be contextually aware.
According to Google, 40 vehicle manufacturers have already signed up for the system, and we will see this emerge in new cars by the end of this year as a competitor to Apple’s CarPlay.
