Today, Apple announced an update to how Siri is activated. Previously, you had to tap and hold your home button to activate Siri, but with the update you will now be able to launch it simply by saying, “Hey, Siri”. This will allow hands-free access to the service.
The update also incorporates Shazam recognition, and adds the option to purchase Content from iTunes, as well as allowing dictation in 22 new languages.
This is very similar to Google’s ‘OK, Google’ phrase that launches Google Now Voice Search.
