According to a report by The Guardian, Apple will now be adding even more curation by Apple editors to its App Store across Europe. They report that content categorized under productivity, photo & video, sport, music, lifestyle, health, and travel will be specially picked out for users and recommended individually or as collections.
To reflect this change, Apple will also be modifying the landing page on the App Store App for iOS devices and the website on Macs and Windows Computers to display these hand picked Apps and collections.
The categories that will be curated are 12 in number, including Games, Kids, Education, Food, and Newsstand. As for the remainder of the categories, Apps under them will still be curated and picked; however, that will be done by a computer algorithm rather than by hand.
There are now 4 areas that offer human curation of content on the App Store: Europe, the United States, Australia, and Canada.
Apple will also be releasing a newer version of the App Store alongside iOS 8, which will include better search features, video previews, as well as discounted bundles of Applications sold by developers.
