Apple has just released a newer, entry level version of its all-in-one desktop computer, the iMac. Priced at $1,099, it stands $200 cheaper than it was before. It sports medium level specs with an Intel i5 1.4GHz dual core processor, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, and an Intel HD Graphics 5000 graphics card.
Before your purchase you can upgrade your iMac with a 1 Terra byte Hard Drive, a fusion drive (1TB HDD + 128GB SSD), or a 256GB Solid State Drive. If you put in another $200 you will start off with a 1 Terra byte Hard drive, an Intel Iris Pro graphics card, and the ability to upgrade the RAM to a plentiful 16 GBs.
While the entry level iMac isn’t an absolute beast in terms of performance, it can easily hold its own as a desktop for home or office use, and even light gaming.
You can configure and purchase your iMac from the Apple Store, here.
