Apple Launches “Browse by Category” In App Store

browse by category

Apple has launched a new feature on its Mac and iOS App Store, called “Browse by Category“.  “Browse by Category” allows users to easily browse the App Store by different App collections mentioned under the category they fall in.

This new feature is a change from before where the user had to click on the top right dropdown category menu. The new method has a visual appeal. Instead of choosing from a dropdown text list, users can now choose the category by tapping on the respective icon.

The other sections, like App Store exclusives, individual showcased apps, and similar App collection groups are still available and have not changed. The new feature will allow a better and improved discovery of Apps in the App Store. Currently there are 24 categories under this section with subsections under them when opened.

Apple announced about its launch through Twitter:

From Books to Weather, browse all of our app categories in a beautiful new way.
