notificationsAndroid L was announced at Google I/O and a developer preview was released for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t crave a taste of the new Android. Luckily for us, Woodblock Without Co. have just the solution.

Enter Heads Up! – Notifications, the App that can be downloaded onto just about any Android device, and will mimic the Heads Up feature in Android 5.0 “L”. While there still are a few bugs to be ironed out, this is as good as it gets for us non-Nexus folks. You can either download this App free (as a preview) from the Play Store or from its XDA page where it was announced.

Heads Up! contains a plethora of useful features, including an option to whitelist Apps to display notifications, disable notifications for ongoing services, and even choose to only use Heads up notifications when the running application is in full screen mode.
