Of the many discussions happening at Re/Code Conference, the recent interviews of Eddy Cue, Apple’s head of online services, and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine had some good outcomes. Eddy Cue spoke about Apple TV and said the current “TV experience sucks,” and termed them as “glorified VCRs.” According to him, TV has a “complicated landscape” compared to music industry which is comparatively easy, as TV involves a lot of parties and it’s quite tough to deal with all of them. According to Eddy Cue, TV should be much more accessible and user-friendly which it is not currently.
He also said the Apple TV business is quite good and growing well. Apple has sold more than 20 million units since its inception in 2013, getting a business of more than $1 Billion. Eddy Cue said Apple TV will evolve further this year as Apple continues to improve its content offering.
