After several years of waiting, Microsoft finally made a move that is strategically right for the company. Today, at an event in San Francisco, Microsoft announced the arrival of Microsoft Office for iPad. Word, PowerPoint and Excel will be available for the iPad on the App Store starting 2PM ET.
“When it comes to Office 365, the vision is pretty straightforward,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said. “It’s about giving Office users the same experience on any device they want to use. Our commitment going forward is to make sure we drive Office 365 everywhere. That means the web, tablets, all phones and PCs.”
You do however need an Office 365 subscription to use them. Non-subscribers will be able to view and present documents. Mashable were able to get their hands on the Apps, here’s the video –
We will update and post the links to the App Store once the Apps go live.
