It’s very convenient to stream your Mac’s laptop screen to a nearby TV using Apple’s Airplay. Totally simple and quite efficient. However, there is one problem to it. You can easily stream your screen but you can not stream your audio without the display showing up on your TV.
There is a simple way to do it without going through iTunes. Just click the Volume settings icon in the menu bar while pressing the Options Key. This will show a drop down menu and allow you to select the output device for streaming your music or audio to the output device without sending away your screen.
(Note: Don’t click the Volume Settings icon since the volume slider will be displayed, make sure to press the Option Key and then click the icon)
