It has been almost 7 years since the first ever iPhone made its way into the hands of customers in 2007. Today, Apple has sold their 500 millionth iPhone, according to a report by Forbes.
Initially, Apple sold 100 million iPhones in 4 years, selling another 100 million in one year after that. The next 100 million iPhones were sold in 10 and 8 months respectively. Selling half a billion handsets is an outstanding milestone for Apple, and shows just how rapidly Apple and its user base is expanding.
Apple had sold 472 million iPhones at the beginning of this year, and sold their 500 millionth iPhone on the 8th of March.
