Samsung is set to unveil its 2014 flagship, and successor to the Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S5 on February 24th. The announcement will take place during one of Samsung’s media events at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Obviously, they haven’t mentioned explicitly that they will unveil the S5, but judging by the event name – ‘Unpacked 5,’ and the fact they labelled it as their first major mobile announcement of 2014, we deduced that it is quite obvious.
The predecessor, the S4, launched on the 13th of March last year, with it being released at stores by late April.
As for the specifications, there is no official word out as of yet, but back in January, SamMobile reported that it will show up in two versions, a premium metallic version, as well as a cheaper, typical, plastic version.
While we don’t believe Samsung will release two versions, there is always a first time. Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more information on the Galaxy S5.
