The vinyl skins are easy to apply and can be removed and reapplied if necessary. The carbon fiber nexus 7 skins (2nd generation), for example, are to be applied as follows: First remove the front skin from the backing and place it on a line about an inch above the backing’s bottom edge. Next align the top of the skin with the edge of the nexus 7 device and press down. Lift up the unattached bottom of the skin and remove the backing. Lower the skin to the device and press around the edges. Now hold a hair dryer slightly above the nexus 7 and work your way around the edges of the skin only. Give the edges a final pressing and you’re done. Do essentially the same with the piece for the back of the nexus 7, but first place the camera cut-out over the camera and pivot the rest of the skin into position. When removing the back piece from the backing, be careful not to tear it near the letter-holes or camera cut-out. Specific instructions for the skins for each device are found are included with the skin, but the process is easy and essentially the same as for the carbon fiber nexus 7 skins. If removing a skin, do it slowly and carefully (and perhaps even loosen it with a hairdryer first). If reapplying a skin, follow the same process as the first application.
