Nike Fuelband and Fitness Expert Jay Blehnik Confirms Working At Apple, Possibly For iWatch
Globally recognized fitness expert and instrumental consult, Jay Blehnik, has been involved in the development of several Nike products, including the Nike fuelband. And now, Blehnik has confirmed his latest role at Apple, which we speculate will be for the iWatch.
When a Twitter user asked Jay Blehnik if he was indeed working for Apple now, he replied with a “Yes, it is true…,” and also said that it was an exciting opportunity.
Blehnik has been previously consulted on Apple products, according to online profiles, but this time his post will require his undivided skill, as he leaves the fitness industry to work for Apple, which is confirmed by recent Instagram posts and tweets about throwing him a party for ‘leaving the fitness industry.’
Jay Blehnik also removed information and contact details from his website, http://jayblehnik.com/ after leaving his former career.
Since the iWatch focuses on ‘changing your life,’ and it is also supposed to be good for your fitness and health, and will allegedly even measure your vitals, Blehnik seems to be the perfect guy for the job.
According to Nike, Blehnik’s role has also been critical in the development of Nike fitness Apps, Programs, Nike+ Kinect Training, and the FuelBand.
Jay has been a Nike Elite Athlete and Nike consultant for almost 20 years. He worked closely with Nike on the launch of Nike+Running, which has become the largest digital running community in the world. He was also the original creator and program developer of the Nike Training Club App, and the Nike Training Club in-gym program, which boasts over 6 million digital users. He is also a key expert and consultant for many of Nike’s new Digital Sport initiatives that launched in 2012, including Nike+ Kinect Training and Nike+ FuelBand
While the iWatch is rumored to be released this Fall,it is speculated that its actual release date is more than a year away, as we reported previously.
