Gmail Official iOS App Released, And Then Pulled Back
Google moments ago released the official native Gmail App for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and then just pulled it back from the App Store. The App although appeared stunning in design, it lacked basic elements like push notifications and users faced errors while logging into their accounts.
The App also crashed often and users reported numerous bugs. For those who were able to get their hands on the App, it clearly seemed to be a rash decision.

So, Google tweeted that they messed up, and have pulled the App back from the App Store, and have promised users that it will be submitted back again after they have fixed the bugs.

This is what Google said about the bugs in its blog post –
Update: 11/2/11: Earlier today we launched a new Gmail app for iOS. Unfortunately, it contained a bug which broke notifications and caused users to see an error message when first opening the app. We’ve removed the app while we correct the problem, and we’re working to bring you a new version soon. Everyone who’s already installed the app can continue to use it.
We will keep you updated!
