Google has updated Google Maps for Android to version 5.3. The new version adds support for location history dashboard in Latitude, a feature available in the desktop version of Latitude. With the new location history dashboard, you can now see your location history right on your phone. The dashboard will also include how far you’ve traveled, and the estimated time that you spend at home, work, or out.
You can now also set your home address in Latitude, and Latitude will automatically check you in when you are at home. All your friends will be informed, and after you’ve checked in once, “Home” will appear at the top of the list when you’re checking in near there.
Lastly, Google Places now supports custom aspects that you can use to judge a place. Google already includes a few aspects like “Ambience”, “Salsa”, “Service”, and more, but from now on you can set your own aspects and leave feedback.
You can update Google Maps from the Android Market.
