Google Launches New Book to Educate People About the Web
In an attempt to educate the masses about the web, the Chrome team have released a new book titled “20 things”. Coming from the Chrome team, the new book is online based, completely done in HTML5, and looks really interactive.
“We built “20 Things” in HTML5 so that we could incorporate features that hearken back towhat we love about books—feeling the heft of a book’s cover, flipping a page or even reading under the covers with a flashlight.”, said a Google employee in a blog post.
The book tries to teach users about the common web technologies that are in use today including HTML, Cookies, TCP/IP and even answers common questions that maybe you were afraid to ask, “What happens if a truck runs down on my laptop?”
The book once loaded, can also be viewed offline, thanks to HTML 5. Flipping the pages almost appears like iBooks and you can easily dim the lights, share the book via social media and flip to any page instantly.
