Gmail for Android Updated, Adds Priority Inbox

android mail

Google has updated the Gmail App for Android and now Gmail updates aren’t attached to Android updates. Message replies, access to quoted text and viewing previous message content have been improved.

The updated App also sticks your most important message actions to the top of the screen while scrolling through a conversation. You can also tap “Show Quoted Text” to view previous message content.

Most importantly, the update adds support for Google’s highly famous “Priority Inbox” feature. If you have activated Priority Inbox on your Gmail account, your priority inbox mails would get an “Important” label and you can also add a shortcut to “Important” to your home screen.

The update is only available for Android 2.2 (Froyo) and can be downloaded via the Android Market.
