Google has updated Picasa today and the new version of the popular photo tool from Google adds many new and essential features. Picasa v3.8 now has Face Movie, Picnik Integration, Meta Updates and Batch Uploading.

Google recently acquired Picnik, a really useful online picture editing tool and even integrated it with Picasa Web Albums. With Picasa v3.8, Google is going even further. They have now integrated Picnik with Picasa and you could edit all your photos using Picnik’s rich and powerful editing tools directly in Picasa.

Face Movie is yet another addition to Picasa that creates a movie based on your People’s Album. It uses the Facial recognition technology to detect faces first and then you could create a movie using Face Movie. You could even upload the movie to YouTube and share it with your family and friends. Face Movie adds smooth transitions and makes the viewing experience amazing.

With Picasa 3.8, you could even upload complete albums to your Picasa Web Albums and also organize them directly from Picasa. The new version also has metadata updates and Picasa grabs the metadata from the picture and displays the picture in the proper color space of a monitor or screen.
