Apple now allows all kinds of Apps to exist on the App Store. Apps that let you watch Xvid movies, browsers and even multimedia Apps. Earlier, we tested Browsers like A1 – Perfect Web Browser and Night Browser and found them to be compelling. A new browser, Mercury Web Browser caught our attention and we took it for a spin.

The App is only for 0.99 dollars and is well rated. The browser completely resembles the desktop version of Safari. It looks and feels great with almost all Safari features available including the top sites page with images and titles, the bookmarks bar, Safari like scrolling, tabbed browsing and phenomenal multi-touch gestures.

It also allows you to change the user agent and tweak all kinds of settings. You could select iPhone mobile as the user agent and the mobile version of the site you are visiting would be displayed. You could choose Firefox 3.6 and the site would be displayed exactly as it would in Firefox 3.6. There are loads of user agents to choose from.

Furthermore, it let’s you install bookmarklets. You could enable Instapaper or even Lastpass by using the bookmarklets. Though the browser is full of features, it does have a few drawbacks. It appears to be slow at times and is not quite responsive. It crashes and lags a bit, but we are sure that the developers would fix these issues with an update.

For the most part, the browser feels really smooth and has the potential to replace Safari. Have you tried the browser? What do you feel? Do let us know in the comments section below.
