The Magic Trackpad announced by Apple has been getting a lot of attention lately. It is a trackpad for desktop users and is 80% larger than the trackpad available on a MacBook. Desktop users could now use gestures to control stuff on their iMacs and it could kill the mouse forever.
The folks at iFixit have performed a teardown of this new magical device. The teardown section at iFixit is quite unique and in-depth. They tore the Magic Trackpad down and revealed the inside of the device. They did not find something quite unique and the inside of the device was quite as expected. They sure did find that the Magic Trackpad uses the same touchscreen controller trip as the iPhone and the same Bluetooth chip found in the Magic Mouse.
