Apple announced iPhone 4, a few weeks back. It was the biggest leap since the original iPhone and unfortunately the leap got quite huge and Apple missed a step. Everyone from ConsumerReports to David Letterman complained about the reception issues which were being faced by the device. Apple did not figure out the issue until the phone reached the people.
Every iPhone 4 owner seems to drop calls when the iPhone is held in a way such that the palm of their hand touches one of those precious antennas. Even the senator of the United States reportedly wrote a letter to Steve Jobs complaining about the issue. Apple at first did not notice the problem and discarded it. Steve Jobs wrote an email which said, “You are holding it the wrong way”. Gradually, the magnitude of the problem started to become huge and nearly everyone was pissed with their iPhones. The issue got serious and Apple wrote a letter to all iPhone 4 owners accepting the flaw and confirming that it was a software glitch and not a hardware issue.
The matter worsened and Apple decided to hold an event. Today, Steve Jobs took the stage and decided to give away free bumpers to all iPhone 4 owners. If the owners are still not content with the deal, they could take their iPhone 4 back to the Apple Store within 30 days for a full refund. Steve even continued to argue that the iPhone 4 is still the best smartphone in the world and does not face any death grip issues. He said, “But the data supports the fact that the iPhone 4 is the best smartphone in the world, and that there is no antennagate.”
