NetNewsWire – The Perfect Mac RSS Reader
Reading RSS is so much fun. You get news and articles from various sources all at the same place and at the same time. There are loads of RSS readers available for Mac, iPhone and iPod touch. But NetNewsWire is compatible with all three. NetNewsWire has two pricing plans – free and paid.
We are testing the Free version as the Paid version just gets rid of the ads, which are usually placed in the bottom left corner of the screen.
NetNewsWire asks you for your Gmail login credentials and connects with Google Reader. It imports all your subscriptions, starred items, shared items and comments from Google Reader and is done within minutes. RSS readers let you read articles even without an internet connection. NetNewsWire downloads articles and is done in minutes.
It allows you to customize the fonts of the articles and offers you about 10 fonts to choose from. You could even browse and select your own font. It has a one-click subscribe button which lets you subscribe to any site by just typing down the site’s address. You could select it as the default RSS reading app and the next time you click on the RSS icon from Safari, NetNewsWire would subscribe to that site and even update your Google Reader account.
You could create folders and group feeds from similar categories together. Posting to Delicious, mailing the link and saving it to Instapaper is now just a click away.
